Chaos Garden RPG Member Application
Please fill out the bolded information below and e-mail it to
applications@chaosgarden.net. To help you understand what we are looking
for, we have included brief descriptions of the field, usually in
parentheses. Please use them as reference, but if you have additional
questions while filling out the application, you may confer with a GM. A
GM will reply to your message after you return the application and work with you
to join the RPG. If certain aspects of your character don't fit into what
we are trying to do in Chaos Garden, the GM will work with you to alter it to
better fit. We do want you to be able to have a character you want to
play, so we will work with you to make something you enjoy playing.

Character Information
In order to participate in Chaos Garden, you will need at least one character to
play (though you may choose to have more than one). You don't have to
completely detail all traits of your character here, but you should at least
have an idea of what you want to play.
Character Name:
Character Stats: (% Physical / % Magic - Must add up to 100%)
Your character's strengths and weaknesses in battle will be determined by two
statistics: physical and magical.
Your physical percentage determines the physical characteristics of the
character. The higher the percentage, the more feats your character will
be able to perform. Other specialties under the physical characteristic
include: aptitude with weaponry, physical strength, agility, and vitality.
Having a high Physical stat means that your character would potentially be a
master of the blade, a behemoth able to crush the skulls of others with his or
her bare hands, or an accomplished martial artist.
On the other hand, the Magical stat allows the character access to more powerful
ways to channel energy and use magic. A person with a high magic stat
could be an all-powerful wizard, who can cast spells that make all tremble
before them. Any channeling of energy, spell, magical enhancement, etc.
comes from the magical stat.
Different combinations of the two percentages create different makeups. A
50/50 character may be a monk, able to use his fists as deadly weapons and use
his or her ki to perform energy attacks on others. A 25/75 character may
be a battle mage, casting powerful spells but able to use a sword to defend
themselves. A 75/25 character may be a Paladin, who uses his sword but
also able to heal others with his magic. The combinations are nearly
endless.
There is a lot of freedom to do what you want with this system, but remember
that a GM will look at these stats to help manage what a character should or
should not be able to do, and keep people from powergaming.
